Man who raped daughter had prior rape conviction

This man just makes my blood boil. He sexually abused his daughter, then imprisoned her without her mother's knowledge and had 7 kids by her over 24 years. Before he had a family, apparently, he was convicted for and served time for rape. This is just an evil, evil man. I can't imagine what his poor wife is going through having discovered this.

I've read about this. It makes me so sad for this poor woman and her children.
This is why I say sexual offenders get one strike. The first conviction and it's over for them. I'll happily pay taxes to keep these types of individuals in the prison system all their days.

It certainly would have saved his daughter, in this case. Then again, so would have the death penalty or castration.

It would have saved those Idaho children and their family as well if that man had been held all his life. Or given the death penalty.
Many times when reading about sexual assault or abuse, it says the abuser had a history of such. I'm all for whatever it takes to keep these people from reoffending. If that means the death penalty because they will be let out after so many years, then so be it.

Looks like he may only get a fraction of time in jail that he held his daughter captive.

It just kills me how he claims that he tried to care for his secret family. I'm not even sure that he realizes that what he did was wrong. He not only ruined one life, he ruined several.

The guy knows what he did was wrong. He's just trying to justify that it wasn't as wrong as it could have been. Well, heck let's throw him a danged party. The guy did act in a monsterous manner. And he gets to deal with the consequences in the next life. That is my comfort.

I'm just glad Austria is approaching this with the goal of keeping him in jail for life. Sometimes in European countries, the punishment for sexual crimes seems to be little more than a slap on the wrist, a knowing wink and a "You naughty boy" thrown in for good measure.
