We talked about Sister Beck's talk last conference

but we haven't talked about Pres. Ballard's talk this time.

We were watching conference with a couple in our ward for that session. All 4 of us were in tears. It touched me clear to my core. Both my husband and our friend were telling us, "See? See what you do? See how you need breaks?"

In contrast, look at what's happening in Texas. Are these women revered and loved? The way that they live and are treated as possessions and baby machines, and little else, is not what Heavenly Father wants for His daughters.

A real man of God speaks of his wife and treats his wife as Elder Ballard does. Any woman who is trying, who desires to raise her children well and keep her home running well and help her husband be happy deserves to be treated that way. I'm so grateful to have the husband I do.

So what do you think motivated him to give this particular talk?

tears.gif I just read it. (We ended up traveling during Conference... long story involving me goofing up. And I'm not all the way to Sunday afternoon talks yet, but I skipped ahead for this one.)

Sometimes it's just flippin' hard being a mother of young kids and I can be pretty hard on myself as well. I can be so sure that I'm messing it up beyond all repair. This talk really hits the spot for that kind of thinking, though. I do need an occasional pep talk.
