Hopefully I can say this so that it doesn't sound trite, but it seems to me that Pres. Monson's sense of humor has improved since he became prophet. He had a great sense of humor before, but he had me in stitches several times this conference.

Could be. He's always been very pleasant and humorous. I found it very comforting that he had definitely not lost it with the soberness of the calling...

The impression that my husband and I got is that he's a bit more relaxed and letting his sense of humor show more. Why that is, I don't know, but we've also noticed a change.
As Sons1 and 2 thought the ear-wiggling thing was fantastic. This may sound silly, but President Hinckley was the only prophet they'd ever known, and having President Monson "let his hair down", has helped them with the transition.

Pres. Monson is definitely a prophet of God. Several people talked about how noticeable it was how the mantle of the calling fell on him, and I am in total agreement. Although I have to admit, whenever anyone started saying, "the Prophet, President " my mind automatically filled in "Gordon B Hinckley". It will take me a while to get over that knee jerk reaction.

I love it when the prophets speak extemporaneously. Pres. Monson's final remarks on Sunday afternoon really touched me - more than usual. I loved the story of his great grandfather's mission and how Frances's parents responded when they discovered he was related to the missionary that brought the gospel to her grandparents.
I hadn't heard anything about Sis. Monson's fall and coma earlier this year... did anyone else know about that?
Nope, it was a surprise to me. In general, GAs live private lives. We don't learn much about them unless there's an actual death or they choose to share something. For instance, if Elder Ballard (and the other one, If forget who) hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have known that their wives had had back surgery.

It did seem that there were a lot of talks focusing on how the Lord prepared Pres. Monson for this calling, and a lot of people testified that Pres. Monson is the Prophet.

Pres. Monson was not one of my "favorites" generally. Sort of leftover issues cuz my ex is related to him. But I am happy to say, I have absolutely LOVED him from the press conference and forward. He is a wonderful man!
