Hebraic Names in the book of Ether

The Brother of Jared and his group fled the tower of Babel at the time of the confusion of tongues.  So why are there Hebrew proper names such as Levi, Ephraim, and Heth mentioned in Ether?  These are names that are mentioned in the Bible long after the time of Babel but existing in the old world.  Did the Jaredites have a Hebrew type language?

Just curious......

Maybe or maybe that's what those names translated into. Different languages today share the same names but they sound and are spelled different. Pedro, Peter, Petra, Pietra, Juan, John, Jon, Johann, etc. Jack, Jaques, Jac, Jose, Hosea, Hoseb. I chalk it up to translation.

They were not confounded at the tower of babel, so um... I'd think they'd speak adamic. Though there may be nominal equivalents...

That's kind of like the word "adieu" at the end of Jacob.  Bye bye, good night, adios, sianara, whatever works!smile

As was stated, the Jaredites language was not confounded, therefore, it was Adamic. It would follow then that those names found in the Book of Ether come from the Adamic. So, that would mean that names attributed as "Hebrew" in reality come from the original Adamic.

Did I restate it all correctly?
