Joseph Smith?

Photo of the Prophet Joseph? Nah.

As one of the millions who have come to KNOW Brother Joseph again, I do not believe this to be a photo of him.

Will your faith be shaken if you find out it really IS a picture of him?

Personally, I find details such as the exact image of Joseph Smith to be irrelevant to my testimony, so whether or not a photo matches my image of him is irrelevant and therefore not based on faith but on facts, so I'm open to whatever this turns out to be. shrug.gif

Won't shake my faith, because it isn't him.

I must admit that I'm having trouble seeing the importance of this as well. I personally don't think that the picture is of Joseph, but I'm not sure what it would mean if it was of him.

If it were him, we could hang it up in all the bishops and stake president's offices instead of that painting.

I think it could be him. I think it looks a lot better than those femmy paintings, too, where his eyes are too big for his head. bleh.gif

But I'm with the others that say it really doesn't matter. You "know" the Prophet Joseph not through your mortal eyes, anyhow.

My first thought was "But he's so YOUNG!" which, of course, Joseph Smith was. Makes the contrast between him and recent prophets more vivid.

Not that I know whether or not it is the Prophet. I have no idea either way.

I don't think that picture is of Joseph Smith.  It's attributed to be taken in 1843, the year before Bro. Joseph died.  But the person in that picture is younger than 37 years old.

But if it were, then my testimony would be shot to ----.  I've based all of my testimony on tangible things, so if anything contradicts it, then I'm lost.
