Ok, about the story... I'm not sure, but I think in Canada you can still sell horses for slaughter. It's a bad situation, but if they were euthanized in a humane way, I'm for people having that choice. There will always be unwanted horses, as there are unwanted dogs, cats and other animals. And the price of $2,000 they mentioned as being very low? Yeah, try more like $200 or less for horses in this condition. At least that's been my experience.

I'm actually against laws that prohibit the eating of horses. They're meat, after all. Just because they're purdy doesn't mean that they shouldn't be eaten.
