The parents of a girl with Down syndrome chose for her to have cosmetic surgery to improve her appearance. The girl underwent cosmetic surgery three times by age 5. It is meant to help her fit in.

I'd have to defer to the parents. It's their child. I don't think it will harm the child and might help her when dealing with other children. Since I'm not in that position, I think I will refrain from making a judgement.

I have a number of friends who ended up with Down's Syndrome girls.

For one, they are having surgeries just to keep her heart going so she can live.

For the others, I think if they had the funds, they would try to make her more cosmetically appealing.

My prayers are with both of these families who have the opportunity to raise these celestial spirits.

We have a celestial spirit of our own that we get to raise (not down's).

Interesting.
I am not judging these parents, but I would never do it. But then I have a Downs brother and I always thought he was adorable just the way he was.
