This is in reference to arbilad's post in the Florida Primary thread, in which was stated that the Republicans (of which I am not one, and I'm kind of paraphrasing here, so arbi, correct me if I'm misconstruing your point), have drifted far from their original platform and have become unconservative and unresponsive to the American people. Anyway I was just trying to dig up some information on the Constitution Party and I ran across this little nugget of argument: http://www.theamericanview.com/forums/showthread.php?t=860
This is in no way intended to be a slam against your belief system, arbi, but to show that there is a large amount of error amongst the members of the CP as well as among any other political party. Human beings=human frailties, regardless of political leanings.

I read that entire thread, and I'm not sure what the point is. The original poster seems to be upset that people in the CP are openly religious and that influences their policy positions. I personally don't see the problem with your moral beliefs influencing your policy positions. If the Wiccans were to form a party, that would be their right. I would hope they wouldn't win anything, but I have no problem with a person's religious beliefs influencing their actions. More specifically, she seems to accuse the Constitution Party of adhering to a narrow interpretation of religious thought. But I've seen plenty of variation, including messianic jews, in the CP. Utah has a strong Constitution Party, and I'm sure that if the party leadership welcomed only reformist protestants, as the original poster asserts, there would be considerable friction between the Utah branch of the party and the rest of them. But I haven't seen that. So that post seems to me to be a non issue.
