The battle against Mitt

The following was posted by an aquaintance on another board who is from Iowa and attended the caucus.

"Hopefully Huckabee, will not win, I sat through the caucus, It was like going to a revival with his people. the good old baptists. maybe you could call it a good old tent meeting. If you wanted to go to a anti mormon meeting it was there. Ron paul had young college students out in mass, a 12 by 6 foot sign on every corner and young students carring them in the middle of the block. Students came here all hyped up, and left thinking they had waisted their time... Huckabee is on a mission to destroy Mitt Romney."

Well folks, you can understand what happened. Even if folks planned on voting for Mitt, in a caucus you can get browbeat to vote the way the local pastor says you should vote. Everybody can see which corner you are in. It seems a miracle to me now that Romney got as many votes as he did.
In New Hampshire there will be private voting booths but McCain AND Huckbee are on a mission to destroy Mitt Romney.

You can get the delegate count at MSNBC. Romney does NOT lead Huckabee at this point. It's like 30 to 15 at this point.

Seriously folks, it will only be through the fasting and prayers of the righteous that Mitt wins.

McCain or Huckabee would be disasters. Mitt is the only one who can win against Obama or Hillary.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the Republican caucus was basically a secret vote, more like a straight election than a meeting. I think it is the Democrats that require everything to be dynamic and public.

I listened to the New Hampshire debate last night, and with the exception of Ron Paul and perhaps Thompson, all the candidates aimed personal jabs at Romney at least once.

Here's an interesting article about Huckabee's Dec 31 attack ad that he decided not to run in Iowa.

I will not pray or fast for Mitt to win because he would be a disaster for this country. Of course, I can't really hope that any of the other candidates, except Ron Paul, beat Romney. But I see no reason to vote for someone like Mitt.
That said it is a shame that the other candidates are so viciously attacking him.

Mahonri: I think it's really cool that you fast and pray for Romney. I have never in my life even thought about fasting (and barely about praying) for any elected official.

Now that you mention it, though I think... that's a really cool idea. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm. Whatever the outcome I feel a great deal of optimism about most of the candidates open to our choice, but clearly I'm most in favor of Mitt.

I regularly pray that our politicians will make wise decisions in regards to the direction they are taking this country.

I pray for the leaders of the country, etc. but have never prayed about letting one win.

Sort of reminds me of that one Asian dude on the World Poker Tour that stands there and prays, "Jesus, let me win. Give me the card I need. I know You will help me win this, Jesus." I'll be darned if he doesn't get the Jack of diamonds or whatever it is he needs!

Prayers for Mitt Romney should include the request that he get help to understand D&C 98: 4-7 and PGP: Joseph Smith -History: 14-20, and be given the courage to publicly acknowledge his errors on these issues.

And acknowledge that it would be wrong to ban military style weapons, and better yet retract NFA laws. I want something with the happy switch!

I looks to me like what I call the latter day gadiantons (LDGs) (some call them "insiders") who are pretty much running this country very much do not want Romney as president, even though he has surrounded himself with conventional Republican political hacks and even one globalist "security" advisor Coffer Black of Blackwater fame/shame. The big news media push for Huckabee in Iowa was done, I think, to defeat Romney. The LDGs are afraid that Romney, even though I think he is pandering to them, (as opposed to Ron Paul, who does not) has too much integrity to be manipulated into blatantly evil acts needed to accomplish their goals.

Giuliani still seems to be the one the LDGs want, in spite of growing public awareness of his ties to corruption. It looks like McCain is also being pushed forward, probably as insurance in case Giuliani is not able to pull out a major victory in Florida and/or Super Tuesday. If Giuliani fails to win in those primaries, he will probably not survive the cut, in which case the LDGs would want McCain to inherit front runner status rather than Romney.

Obvious (to some, anyway) media manipulation and vote fraud are signs that the insiders/LDGs are having to scramble to control this race.

My wife told me she heard on Limbaugh that McCain would not have won NewHampshire without the large turn out of Democrat and Independents who voted in the Republican Primary for McCain... kind of a bummer.

Some states allow that, some don't.

You know, I love Mitt, but he has pandered. I don't like that about him. I believe he would do a good job at running the country, but running a country with all those knotheads we call Congressmen and Congresswomen isn't the same as running Bain Capital or the Olympics.

While I don't agree with McCain on every issue, he's not afraid to tell people what they don't want to hear when he believes he's right on that point. I like someone who talks straight--even if I disagree with them. I'm still undecided though. I'm not sure I will vote for Mitt, because he doesn't seem to stick with one point of view on almost anything. And as Michael Medved said after Mitt's speech following the Michigan triumph, everything he said sounded like something the democrats would say.

I guess I'll just have to move to the fall back position of fasting and praying. :)

Some polls have him closing in on the leaders in Florida.

Keep fasting and praying for him.'=
