Here's the AP's top ten stories of the year 2007. Are they right? Did these stories impact you? And what stories do you think were more interesting or noteworthy?

The war in Iraq and violence against humans anywhere tug at your heartstrings....
I would have to say that I would place Oil Prices and the Mortgage Crisis as number 1 and 2 with the Presidential campaign as #3. These will have the longest lasting effects globally.
I asked my wife what the most important story of the year was and she said, "Katrina"... I reminded her that was August of 2006 and she said, "Wow, time goes by doesn't it?". Time to take her out for date night tonight.

Cat, you make me laugh. We're back from the wedding now.
Great kid from Phoenix marrying the physicians daughter from an uppity neighborhood in Mesa.
Couldn't leave there fast enough.

roper: actually if you examine the stories, most of the political ones were poorly reported... that's the news we get at least until the mainstream media loses all its money.

Definitelty the VA Tech stories. (my sis knew one of the victims). Also the war in Iraq. But the other things didn't concern me even if they should have. Usually the stories w/greatest impact on me are all the horrible things of man's inhumanity to man. I could care less about the celebrity stuff. I get so tired of all their problems being deemed breaking news.
actually besides the VA tech story, another story that was hard for me personally was when someone who had attended my institute class was shot to death. I will never forget the feeling of clicking on the article, seeing the victim's photo and realizing oh my, that's the guy that sat in the front in institute.
