No. This guy's not the least bit extreme in his judgements. (though Clearly Huckabee's strategically placed bookshelf is no accident... and Huckabee should stop pretending it was just a happy coincidence...)

Huckabee's parting shot is great, but does it have a veiled meaning? Does Huckabee intend to assassinate Ron Paul!? You conspiracy folks should warn your favorite candidate... the campaign's really getting heated!!

And the Sinclair Lewis quote, to me, is just common sense. Mormons in fact believe that doctrine. We're warned in the BOM that there will be those who call evil good and good evil. Why not think this is happening with politics - something that controls our "freedom" to worship as we see fit? And I believe government can take away freedom. I think there's an example of that in the BOM, too.

FWIW, I TOTALLY agree that we, as Mormons, have as much need to fear those trying to force God out of public discourse, as we do from Evangelical Christians trying to force their version of God into the public realm.
It's just safer for everyone to have the government as religion-free as possible, and let us live our own religion in the private sphere. Better 500 nativitiy scenes in our own yards than one nativitiy scene causing strife and unkind feelings at the public courthouse.
FTR, Ron Paul ran the first Christmas Campaign Ad. I kinda think Huckabee did this one because he HAD TO, he playing to the crowd that believes he's the only "true" Christian running for president. At least that's how it appears to me.
Still it concerns me that Ron Paul is so quick to throw the nazi allegation around. Shows a caustic personality that most likely is fit more for writing philosophy papers and quoting to action groups, or from the floor of congress, than a more dignified response one might expect from Commander in Chief.

I don't think Paul gives a rip what people think of his "personality" or "people skills" - I think he's too busy living what he thinks is the right thing. The man has integrity anyway.

Well, Mitt should run a Christmas Card campaign ad too... with MoTab in the background and the Temple Square Christmas lights and nativity and Christus statue. And maybe a cameo of Jimmy Stewart as Mr. Krueger...
Then again, maybe not...

It's easy to decry public displays of Christmas until someone steals your baby Jesus and replaces him with a garden gnome. Then you will weep bitter tears, and get elected to high office. :)
