They obviously didn't check our ward. I think we are about three to one on boy births in the last couple of years.

That is so different from the articles about how boy babies are vastly outnumbering girl babies in places like India and China due to sex-selective abortions.

Pollution causes girls. I'm going to have to have some time to wrap my head around that one.

Cripes.

I think it's because of fertility treatments. I've had this theory for a long time. Female eggs are hardier, so they would be more likely to make it through petri dishes, liquid nitrogen and whatnot.

I've also heard that the sperm that carry the y chromosomes are not as hardy as the x chromosome carrying sperm and don't swim as fast.

Could plural marriage make a comeback?

Isaiah 4:1
1 ¶ AND in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

I am one who believes that the millenium has already begun.

"In that day" -- the millennial day, the day in which seven women shall cleave unto one man -- "shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious." He is speaking of those who are left on the olive tree that is Israel. "And the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel." Only those in Israel who abide the day and escape its burning desolations shall partake of the millennial glory. "And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning." Only the righteous in Israel shall remain. They shall be holy, for they have not been consumed in the day of burning. "And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain."

they haven't counted my family.

We have the whole stripling warrior thing going...with new ones all the time.

Much to the disappointment of my SIL who has 2 closets full of baby dresses and a house full of boys.

The populations who are having this problem are limited. The article notes the problems are among a group of Chippewas and some indigenous arctic people. Overall, there is not a problem with a reduction in the number of boys being born.

The birth ratio in our ward (as evidenced in our nursery) would tend to support the seven (or more) women laying hold on one man prophecy Mahonri references in Isaiah...  The poor one or two boys in there have to get out of the way when the dozen or so girls start fighting over the two strollers and various dolls...  rofl.gif

Here is a reasonable explanation for less boys than girls being born in certain areas and ethnic groups of the world...

The boys were casualties of the war in heaven... wink.gif

No. She's just storing them for the magical day that may never come when a girl is born.
