The curse of little babies.

I held a sweet little newborn last night. I got all warm and melty inside and started thinking I need another baby right away.

See I'm the opposite. I don't like newborns. They don't do anything but lay there and poo and look like mini versions of Winston Churchill. When they start smalling and laughing then they're much more interesting.

I consented to hold my new nephew.

Other than that, I don't hold babies. I don't go to baby showers. I don't buy baby gifts. If it becomes absolutly neccesary to give a "new baby" gift, i generally give something to the mother - like new pajamas - rather than baby stuff.

Classic avoidance of things I can't change.

I agree sorta, Jason. I don't really enjoy my babies until they're about 3 months old. There is just something about holding a newborn, though. It's probably a female instinct thing to trick us into having more kids.

My baby is at the perfect age. She's almost 4 months old. She smiles and coos and laughs at things. She's chubby and sturdy enough that she doesn't feel super fragile. She's very sweet and cuddly. It's one of my favorite ages. :)

Come hold her! I dare you! Tickle the side of her chubby little neck and make her giggle!

I like babies, too. Newborns are awesome when they're laying on your chest and you're reclined in the La-Z-Boy - MAN!! You can't beat that! They make you feel awesome! I like them pretty much up to 12 months. Then they change. The hardest age for me is between 12 and 24 months.

See I have a theory. The babies have to start becoming interesting at about three months because if they didn't no one would ever have another baby again.

What is the matter with you people? You're senses so dull you can't see what a newborn is thinking or learning or doing? Start becoming interesting.... rolleyes

I love newborns with hiccups. They hiccup with their entire body, then look at you as if to say, "something just rocked my world!" It gives me the giggles.

my baby will be a year next weekend. There's a four year gap between him and his next older sibling. So we'd forgotten a lot. I admit that I've enjoyed this last little fellow a lot, but my wife and i are both really tired too. It's a time that goes by so fast. And now my little guy's able to climb on pretty much everything... which is about the age he becomes really cute to dad, and really uncute to mom. :)

My favorite age for babies is from about 6 months to 4 years--love, love, love those inquistive years when everything is new and wonderful.  Love seeing them learn as they contemplate difficult things like how to get the bottle from under the couch when it keeps getting stuck.

Of course, perhaps I like it so much because once I realize that the baby is beginning to stink with all that learning, I can give him back to momma and I can go on my merry way.  biggrin

I'm at the stage in life that I like to hold a baby, coo all over it and then if it cries or wets or poops, I can happily give it back to his mother. Cuz it ain't mine! biggrin.gif

My mom is 70 years old this year, and she still gets baby hungry at times. Thank goodness for grandchildren ( and a great- grandchild)!

I'm not baby hungry, I've got full-blown babyitis. I have all these feelings and desires about having another baby, but the timing isn't quite right yet. Watch out, Jen. I might come "borrow" yours for a bit. wink.gif

This is why we have so many adopted kids (who now bring grands with them sometimes...) They are so fun...  and I can give them back and usually they go somewhere else to sleep!  wink.gif
