Isn't fate ironic? A former SS guard lived next to a former prisoner in a retirement community.

Arbi, I saw this story about the death of French mime artist Marcel Marceau at the age of 84, because of that link you shared...

I had not heard... FWIW,when World War II moved into France, his father was captured and sent by the invading Nazis to Auschwitz, where he died.

I've known people on both sides of those fences as guards and inmates.  It makes me so very thankful I was never there... on either side.
