I don't believe it. It's based on the word of one guy, a guy we don't know anything about. Integrity? Motive? Someone lining his pockets? The fact that this came from the Statesman dosen't help convince me. It is, at best, a step above a tabloid; yellow journalism with liberal motives.

Perhaps Jen......but he admitted to the charges and accepted the fine. The burden of proof is now on him to prove his actions were misconstrued, not the police who caught him. After Mark Foley this guy should have known better.
It is hard to believe he is not guilty after he put in the plea. But stranger things have happened. I would go with it being most likely that he is guilty.
It is so hard to understand why people put themselves in situations like this. I heard a discussion that explained the narcissism involved with powerful people with so many people who want to be apart of their power that they treat them as special and let them bend the rules. I guess that kind of made sense that they get to thinking that the rules do not apply to them. You think they would learn from the downfall of others in high places.
I also said that if someone was a victim of abuse that this can be apart of revictimization as the shame of it becoming public. I am not sure if I understand it all. I would think that is very sad if that is the case. It is horrible to be a victim of abuse and go through that shame and I hate to think of anybody be revictimized by being shamed in public even if they are guilty. Do not misconstrue my words to say that I condone the actions. I do not condone the actions. I would hope that people would seek therapy instead of acting out. Also, I have not heard anything to indicate that Senator Craig has been a victim of abuse. Foley who was in a recent scandal involving pages was and perhaps that explains some of his bizarre behavior.
It is a sad, sad, day in America when they go wall to wall with this kind of news on the cable news channels.
He plead guilty, he should resign. I'm a big GOPer and find this embarrassing. How is the party suppossed to take the moral high road on issues with freaks like this in office. I heard Glen Beck last night say something that I had never heard before on this. Washington has become Hollywood for ugly people. How true!
Call me naive, I still think he's innocent, and this is a sad and disgusting smear campaign. The Idaho Statesman left a paper on our driveway this morning, with this as the big story. We are not and never have been (and never will be) subscribers.
He was stupid to plead guilty. But I can sort of see why he would. For $1000 plus court costs, he tried to make a misdemeanor go away quickly, to avoid a drawn-out trial and media frenzy. Too bad it backfired.
I feel horrible for his family.

The case has not caught my attention or interest, and I doubt it will, in big part because of my inherent distrust of mainstream news media, especially on issues involving politics or politicians. Craig could have been "set up", or may be guilty as sin. The time lapse between the alleged incident and now gives me cause for suspicion. Pleading guilty in any way to a charge one is not guilty of to avoid further aggrivation is not unheard of. I guess it's no worse than a political apirant supporting an immoral cause like gay rights and programs to gain votes.
You can think he's innocent all day Jen but he plead out so in the eyes of the law he is guilty. If he stays around he just becomes a distraction for the GOP and a weapon by the Dems to use against GOP candidates like the Mark Folley scandal. He should resign.
But, you can well believe that there will be allegations he was LDS because he is from Idaho and was part of Romney's (who is LDS) campaign organization...
So, either way, it will be used to point out hypocrisy and guilt by association by those who are anti-Romney.

The more information that comes out, the more Craig looks like he did something incredibly stupid, and then pleads guilty for it which is even more stupid if he is innocent, then tries to blame everyone but himself.
Come on, Senators are supposed to have more character to this. (Even if it isn't as common as it should be.)
If he doesn't resign, he should at least not run for reelection.
Yea, typical political ploy. He says he will resign so the media furor and the criticism from the party subside, then like the Washington Cool Aid drinker that he is, he changes his mind. Glen Beck was right, DC is Hollywood for ugly people.

I heard a funny one-liner about the Larry Craig story today on Glenn Beck, something like the people care more about whether or not this senator crossed the border in a bathroom stall than they do about our country's borders...
