I just am not interested in politics at the moment, which I normally am. I wonder what it could be? The Democrats in congress are just as crazy as ever, the Republicans are acting the same, and here I am not surprised.
Let's start a new party called the Anti-Demo-Republi-Libertar-Green-Independ-ites.
The platform can be to stand for and promote... absolutely nothing!
You can be Jerry, I'll be George, Ray can be Kramer, Jason can be The Soup Nazi, Coco can be Elaine, Arbi can be Newman, and roper can be Mr. Steinbrenner...

I'd like to promote nothing too. But I'd like to do it without promoting Seinfeld. (Don't mind me. I'm just annoyed that the female lead has already been assigned )

I understand the feeling. It feels like the 2004 election had barely ended and the 2006 one had begun. Not to mention the 2008 Presidential campaigns starting so early!

I'm not voting for Ron Paul because it's not expressly prescribed in the Constitution.
Re. being politically fatigued, have a look at D&C 123: 11-17. That and other LDS scriptures, as well as numerous statements by various General Authorities have made very clear our responsibility in safeguarding moral principles and the establishments of government under federal and state constitutions, and the civil rights of men safeguarded by these. Put in another way, they pretty much tell us how to decided who to support and vote for. Our failure in this responsibility has contributed to much of the evil in America, much of which is not even recognized as evil by most Americans.
So essentially you're blaming the victims, Lund? Not only should you not feel fatigued by politics, but its your own fault for not being involved in them before you were even of age to vote.
How bout I blame my ancestors who for some reason failed to appease the bloodthirsty mobs that drove them into the hills? They were clearly just avoiding their political responsibility, rather than standing up and fighting to the death. Right?

I can't stand to watch political shows or listen to radio programs, all they can do is yell and talk over one another; very little light being generated.
I can't stand to watch the current presidential races. I believe Hillary is going to win out in the end, and I can't bear to watch that train wreck. The republicans have NO ONE.
Can't have my part girlfriend. After all, I'm more qualified because I went to state drama.
"Just when I think you're the shallowest man I know, you somehow manage to drain a little bit more out of the pool."
Hey, I didn't say I wanted to be Elaine. There just aren't any other good female parts on Seinfeld. Which reminds me, who wants to be George's mom? or even his Dad for that matter?
I watched some episodes, and was entertained, but I never really got into it. The show was billed as being about nothing. It seems what they really meant was that the characters got all worked up over nothing. BTW, as far as political fatigue, I've noticed it in many people who don't like any of the major party candidates. They can't get excited about them and can't bring themselves to vote for them. I think that's where third parties have value; there are enough out there, with varied enough opinions, that you can almost always find at least one candidate that mostly matches your views.

I did not compose the 123rd section of the D&C. Nor did I influence the other scriptures and statements by various General Authorities regarding the responsibility of American LDSs to strive to maintain moral and constitutional government. Some seem to think that was all just so much hogwash, meant for another time, or misguided.
You know, Lund, it is possible to read section 123 and still be tired of the political games played in the world.
In fact I just went and read it. I found the section to be about keeping a record of the attrocities against saints, and publishing it, but it did not solely mention for political reasons either.
I think it's unfair to use this scripture as a way to browbeat people into listening to more of the same political commentaries and such that just don't communicate much of anything.

lundbaek, many people in comas can still hear... Maybe I am like that... taking it all in and waiting to wake up and clean the cobwebs...
FWIW, not that it's anyones concern... Those of us that are tired of politcal wrangling are politically "active"... I personally haven't missed a vote since I was 18... We work at the polls on rotation... But the posturing this year has put many people I know to sleep... And personally I THANK heavens for comas...
