How are you teaching the Home Teaching message for August?
Anyone?
I'm kinda at a loss, right now. It's all about being inclusive of Singles, and a lot of encouragement for single members of the church... But it's pretty generic advice, and imo, tough to apply to the families I hometeach. But I'm sure I just have to think a bit more about it. So help me think, anyone? :)

Yea, I just started reading the message because I have to teach it on Sunday. I don't think we have any single elders right now so it will be interesting. I like the suggestion to ask a single member to sit with your family. I think if they took a look at our brood of Berzerker children they would definitely want to ask that their name be removed from church records rather than sit with us. Singles don't want to wear cereal for some reason!
Great. I can see that going well. Hey Matt! You're single!! Do you think you could come with me hometeaching? I've gotta give a lesson about how awkward you feel in church!! We need to practice our sensitivity on you, too! Do you feel awkward Matt? WHy is that? I hope you don't mind if the family asks you lots of personal questions once we get there... I know I've got my share of 'em...

Then, if you do invite them over you will have beserker children decide that they own them. Like, the single (new convert no less) guy that Cat hometeaches. We had him over once and now when the four year old sees him every Sunday he yells out, "Hey Todd! (name changed for privacy) you have to come over to our house today!"
'Cause he's decided that the guy is his new best friend and dueling partner with the swords and light sabers. So far he hasn't maimed him too badly, so hopefully there won't be a personal injury lawsuit anytime soon, but we'll see.
But, at least we've fellowshipped, right?
BTW Ray, August hasn't even started yet and you are already thinking about your hometeaching. I'm impressed!
