Kelly's Heros! That is such a funny movie, even if it is full of hippie philosophy moved back to WWII setting... Spartacus Dirty Dozen The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Das Boot Apollo 13 several Bond, James Bond films
and I agree with several others from your list...
(wondering to myself why is it that 99.999% of the best loved action flicks for men have as a major plot element bloodshed and mayhem? )

Coco's right, I missed one of my absolute favorites.
I love movies of strength and honor and duty, doing what is right. Gladiator is a great movie!

Personally, I don't understand that genre at all... Come to think of it.... there are so many things I just DON'T understand!!!
Sometimes I can't completely avoid them... cause the rest of the family pretty much overrule me... My one vote against dozens sometimes, yeah like THAT is going to get me anywhere...
I can't stand the superhero ones, never seen any of them.

I highly recommend Ronin for the best car chase and gunfight scenes. Heat has a great gunfight scene.
I did like Chronicles of Riddick. Ahh, The Fifth Element to go with Resident Evil and Ultra Violet, hmmm.....Milla Jovovich.
Never could get into Red Sonja.

Blackhawk Down Band of Brothers Saving Private Ryan LOTR Predator Raw Deal Alien Aliens Alien Ressurection Bloodsport pretty much any Clint Eastwood western pretty much any John Wayne western Tombstone
Hey an action flick has to have the element of fiction to it... duh! That is part of what makes it easier to stomach all the senseless killing that goes on of the bad guys by the hero!

The Italian Job Star Trek (gooooo fake action!) another vote for LOTR another vote for Serenity Willow Minority Report Merlin? Ladyhawke? Clear and Present Danger Back to the Future? Steel Magnolias
I may be crossing this line here. They're not all strictly action. And I don't know if they qualify as 'guy films' ...seeing as I'm not a guy.
scifi movie: completed the illfated single season Firefly tv series... if you have a netflixy type thing, put Firefly in your queue and then watch Serenity. You won't be sorry...
