Weird situation, Using DNA for a paternity suit won't work if identical twins are the ones suspected being the father of this child. This coming off of the whole Anna Nicole Smith debacle seems to highlight something very sick with our society.
I agree with this statement " As for the child support,Gaensslen has his own suggestion as to who should be paying. "Split it down the middle," he told ABC News. "They both played, so they should both pay." "
My husband worked in child support a long time ago. You would be stunned with the number of men who believed that since they paid taxes, they should not be held liable for child support. "Let the state eat it" is not an uncommon attitude.
Sometimes people act like animals. There is a guy in the local community that decided to go on a cruise but instead of taking his wife he took his wife's sister. Nine months later here comes the new addition to the family. Now the cousins are also siblings and mom is also the aunt and dad is also the uncle. Some people are idiots.
Actually I'm surprised men are still required to pay child support with all the ERA-er's out there. Women can have an abortion and the man has no say, right? But if she wants to keep the baby, he better dang well pay up. Whatever.

You know, this is one reason why I like the law of chastity. I know that no one is going to be coming forth claiming that I owe them child support (at least, not legitimately).

Yea, there is a piece of mind from having a sure knowlege that there are no possible children out there that you don't know about. I used to work with a guy that found out almost 8 years after the fact that he had a son with some lady from a drunken one night stand. I guess her husband had suspected the child wasn't his so when they divorced he got the kid tested. Then she had to go through the process of trying to find the real daddy. He has a ton of $$$ taken out of his paycheck and has never seen the kid and has no desire to see him. It's really sad.
What really drives me crazy is that the shame factor is totally gone. In the good old days this sort of thing would be looked upon as very shameful in the community creating pressure not to engage in that sort of behavior and if you didn't support your children, that was even more shameful. Now no one seems to care. They also used to hang rustlers which was a good thing also. Aside from the poor health care of the time, I'd almost rather go back.
I thought that line about letting the state eat it was horrible. Some time ago, I had a male coworker who had a friend who was in a mental health facility, on his own accord, supposedly in part to avoid payment of child support.
Hopefully there will be a test that is 100%, I think the attitude of both brothers is terrible.
