I was working on some projects over the weekend and was thinking about certain items that would make good additions to ones non food emergency items to have on hand. Almost everyone knows the value of a roll of duct tape but I've been using something for years that is almost as helpfull and even more in some situations. Plastic Zip Ties. They can be used to hold or secure many, many different things. You can buy them in a bulk bag relatively inexpensively at an auto parts store and they can be connected together to make them bigger. They are much faster than trying to use rope and in many cases better. They are also very strong. Might be a good addition to your emergency kit.
Hubby has zip ties in our stash... and duct tape, plastic, tarps, poles... and a bunch of other good, cool things to use for making our own "stuff" last and work in an emergency... He's good that that... I think it's all the years he worked as a "first responder"... Every time he'd come home from a scene, he'd have a new list. Our garage is full of lot'sa function!
