Xylitol toxic to canines...

Just an FYI, from Snopes, for dog owners... Turns out xylitol is very toxic to dogs. So if you have a dog, be careful...

I wonder why it's toxic to them?

I regularly prescribe it to my patients. It won't allow strep mutans to live in your mouth.

No strep mutans. No dental caries.

I have lots of it at my house...I've warned my kids not to spit it out around the dog.

Thanks
