According to my calculations either today or tomorrow our Church should pass the 13 Million member mark. I wonder how long until we hit 20 Million? I think it will be much quicker than most imagine.
Of course, on the other side of the viel we are growing by leaps and bounds now with Temple's dotting the earth.
At present (in mortality) we are growing by about 1,005 members each day. I can see the day when that will grow to 2000 and then 3000.
We live in an interesting wonderful time.

One of my co-worker's father-in-law just joined the church was just baptized on Sunday. My co-worker and her family, well, that is going to take a bit longer. They are supportive of him, but for now they are comfortable with their baptist church.

One time when I was bored waiting for my laundry while in the MTC, I used data from a church newspaper on church membership, and calculated an exponential function to approximate it. I think I got something similar.

I know! If only all 20 Elvises (Elvi?) would accept their baptisms.
13 million is very exciting.
I don't see an exponential increase in membership, frankly. For the past 20 years, the growth rate has been the same. A nice, steady increase that we should be able to properly fellowship, if only we would do so.
Of course, I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong.
I agree with Bill. It's not exponential. I'm not sure I am comfortable with the rate either. Especially those numbers within the US. I think we members here have a lot of work to do. At least that's how I feel... but then feelings are vague and often overblown...

It seems to me that the fishing times of casting a net are over, that it is now more like hunting where you wait for or stalk your quarry, that the pickings are thinner than before.

Won't be long and God will be using "shock" to bring his chosen ones to the top of the water. As He begins to preach more loudly His sermons, it will make the nets heavy from the catch.
