Kurt Vonnegut is dead. I know that he was a great literary figure, but I could never bring myself to read his stuff. I made it partway through one book and stopped because it was so depressing.

Never read him that I'm aware... even though ostensibly he was famous. Based off the article, some of his writing sounds, well, radical to some extent. Some of it also sounds much like the post WWII German authors I've read... depressing, cold, and with lack of hope in anything good.

If it or a portion thereof was in any of my language or literature classes in high school or college, it certainly didn't make much of an impression on me...
Perhaps I'll someday read some of his work...
