And for those of us who don't speak Russian, but can Google as well as the next guy, here's the translation:

Kristos Voskres = Christ is risen!

and the traditional reply

Vo istinno voskres = He is risen indeed!

More translations here.

Did you guys serve in Russia? I can't find that other thread about the Kiev temple, but anyway, my grandpa came from there. We're stuck on genealogy, because the Church hasn't got records from Chechersk, yet.cry

I served in Ukraine, Shiz served in Russia. We were in the MTC at the same time, but we don't remember each other.

I was in the MTC with a lot of people too... but they don't remember me either. But that is okay. I don't remember them by name unless they were in my district / flight group. And we spoke German.

Of course, in my day, they weren't teaching Russian in the MTC either...

My nephew served in Moscow South, but actually spent nearly 1/2 his mission in Kazakhstan. I didn't know or remember any of the folks there at the MTC with him either...

Further Arbi served in the same mission around the same time as my brother Curtis...

I was surprised when I learned that Curtis and Ray are related, because Curtis was always such a straight-laced, rule following person. At least, for the couple of months I knew him.

He has the nickname of "Nephi" in our family... so actually this fits him perfectly... (he's also the fourth child and boy in the fam)

YOu can guess what my nickname would've been... me being the oldest...

And I suppose that fits too... :)
