Right now I'm experimenting with board settings. I'm trying to set it up so that new users have to have their first few posts approved. I'm not sure how to set it up, though. While I'm experimenting, I may have to approve the posts of all users all the time. I apologize for the inconvenience, and if it is a choice between not having any posts approved, or having to approve literally all of them, then I'll go back to the way it was: not having to approve any of them. I don't want to make the board harder to use.

For now I've stopped playing with approving posts. I can't figure out yet how to approve only a certain set of users.

I'm not sure how this could work, but if some member is the first one to view a questionable post, is there some way to alert a moderator? That way we're "all" on the lookout...

Actually, coco, if you have a problem with anything that another user posts, request a moderation review by posting a new topic in this section of the forum, Moderation Discussions. The moderator staff tries to stay on top of things behind the scenes as to user posts that are clearly in conflict with the posted rules of participation in Bountiful. And, we also post a public notice if something has had to be done.

Btw, I think it's a really cool feature to have to have the first few posts approved... I hope it works. It's definitely a feature that we could've used on other messageboards I frequent.

I don't know how it is for activeboard. But I do moderate on 2 yahoo groups (well now 3 w/the group I made that no one has joined :)
On yahoogroups you can set the entire group to have each post moderated or specifc individuals to have their posts moderated; also even if a group has Unmoderated posts, there is a way to make an exception and moderate the posts of specific users.
