Yesterday a pro-choice group held a rally in the county I live in to protest a bill that was proposed in the state house of representatives to ban abortion except when the mother's life is in danger. They read a letter begging Rep. Renpro to withdraw the bill. What most news outlets didn't play was the last part of the letter, where she asks him "not to let the myth of your religion affect your judgment." That seemed shockingly rude by itself, but at a later part of the rally when she was being interviewed, the interviewer asked her why she said that Rep. Renpro's constituents did not support him on this issue, when he recently won by a large margin, and this is the issue he ran on. She replied by saying "baaaa" like a sheep. Someone nearby her snickered. This sounds more like the level of political discussion that you'd expect on an elementary school playground.

I find many protestors, regardless of what side they are on, obnoxious. It does a disservice to the cause when you have protestors making idiots of themselves.
{humorously intentioned derail warning} I wonder if the Lamanites thought the people of Ammon were obnoxious goody-two shoes and had had enough of their attitude... I mean, with a name like they gave themself and their new king took, Anti-Nephi-Lehi, you know they had to be protesting something... It must have just torqued the Lamanite leaders to see them protest the warrior lifestyle by prostrating themselves and allowing themselves to be killed...

Well, if it weren't for the fact we know babies are soft and snuggly and perhaps the best thing to do a raspberry kiss on, you could almost put an eye out on those ears or cheeks... they do have the deceptive appearance of being "pointy".
Back on topic. I think it is sad that the level of civility in our society as a whole has disintegrated to the point that not only do people feel that sort of underhanded slur arbilad mentioned is acceptable, but that it is humorous and enlightened. Look around us and see how permeated it has become into our everyday lives.

BTW, in case anyone is interested, the bill never made it out of committee.
