More Airport Fun -- Families with children beware?

Anyone remember what I mentioned some time ago about flight crews removing people from flights?  Here is one that removed a whole family because a 3 year old was uncooperative in sitting down and being quite.

At least in this instance, the airline refunded the price of the tickets and then offered them 3 round trip tickets to anywhere they flew as compensation for the inconvenience, but nevertheless, makes one wonder where it will stop as far as who is considered a "problem".  Of course we don't know the whole story, but I'm sure more will be forthcoming...

When we flew with my three year old daughter many years ago we took one of those airline approved car seats that you can use in either a car or airplane.  We put her in the middle seat.  We had no problems.  Of course, we flew South West and the wonderful crew there went out of there way to make her happy.  They even let her help hand out the treats during the flight.  I'm not saying the airline is to blame or the parents in this case.  If the kid wouldn't stay in her seat though and was delaying the flight, that is a problem.

Yeah, it isn't clear if the reason the flight was delayed because of the child or the child's not sitting down was simply coincidental to the fact the flight was running late.  It may be as safe to assume that the airline took a long time to board the plane and the child got tired of sitting down (remember those traveling with young children are invited to board first), or it could be the plane was running behind schedule due to whatever queue had built up at the airport and so the flight crew were under pressure to hurry things along (e.g. plane wasn't ready for boarding or got to the gate late, so hurry up and get people boarded and seated in 1/2 the normal time).  Just don't know.  Or maybe there were other passengers that were irritated with the lateness and this was just another straw...
