Topic of deep discussion: How does a lack of sensible thrift in money matters hurt other people, besides those to whom the money belongs?
We know that waste is bad for an environment and can poison the residence around the region of contamination, but does the waste of money harm others--can it similarly poison those all around us?

Lack of thrift can have a negative impact on others. I think it probably enourages many to go out and buy lots of stuff they don't need. Kind of a keeping up with the Jones' sort of attitude towards possession and value of money. That in turn increases demand for things, which in turn increases price for things, which in turn causes everyone to have to pay more and the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
