I just read President Tom's latest letter to the American people that was released today. This guy is a fruitloop. His letter reminds me of a Nazi rally speach by Hitler. If only the U.S. would stop supporting the Zionists blah, blah, blah. This guy isn't even a creative wacko. If you want to read it here it is: http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/iran_pres_letter.pdf
I especially like how he closes his letter with words from the Koran: "But those who repent, have faith and do good may receive Salvation. Your Lord, alone, creates and chooses as He will, and others have no part in His choice; Glorified is God and Exalted above any partners they ascribe to Him. " (28:67-68)
What am I supposed to repent of in this case? Not being Muslim? If not do I have no part in His choice?
It's interesting that in the beginning, he portrays Americans as a righteous people and our administration as one who has lost touch with the people--ignoring our concerns and proceding in an unjust and unholy actions.
Let me see...his administration supports terrorist groups and is seeking to develop weapons of mass destruction.
Something about pots and kettles comes to mind here.

Is it just me, or does that letter sound a little like something from 3 Nephi... namely Gaddianhi's "letter" to Lachoneous and the Nephites?
1 And now it came to pass that in the *sixteenth year from the coming of Christ, aLachoneus, the governor of the land, received an epistle from the leader and the governor of this band of robbers; and these were the words which were written, saying:
2 Lachoneus, most noble and chief governor of the land, behold, I write this epistle unto you, and do give unto you exceedingly great praise because of your firmness, and also the firmness of your people, in amaintaining that which ye suppose to be your right and bliberty; yea, ye do stand well, as if ye were supported by the hand of a god, in the defence of your liberty, and your property, and your country, or that which ye do call so.
3 And it seemeth a pity unto me, most noble Lachoneus, that ye should be so foolish and vain as to suppose that ye can stand against so many brave men who are at my command, who do now at this time stand in their arms, and do await with great anxiety for the word—Go down upon the Nephites and adestroy them. 4 And I, knowing of their unconquerable spirit, having proved them in the field of battle, and knowing of their everlasting hatred towards you because of the many wrongs which ye have done unto them, therefore if they should come down against you they would visit you with utter destruction.
5 Therefore I have written this epistle, sealing it with mine own hand, feeling for your welfare, because of your firmness in that which ye believe to be right, and your noble spirit in the field of battle. 6 Therefore I write unto you, desiring that ye would yield up unto this my people, your cities, your lands, and your possessions, rather than that they should visit you with the sword and that destruction should come upon you. 7 Or in other words, yield yourselves up unto us, and unite with us and become acquainted with our asecret works, and become our brethren that ye may be like unto us—not our slaves, but our brethren and partners of all our substance. 8 And behold, I aswear unto you, if ye will do this, with an oath, ye shall not be destroyed; but if ye will not do this, I swear unto you with an oath, that on the morrow month I will command that my armies shall come down against you, and they shall not stay their hand and shall spare not, but shall slay you, and shall let fall the sword upon you even until ye shall become extinct. 9 And behold, I am aGiddianhi; and I am the governor of this the bsecret society of Gadianton; which society and the works thereof I know to be cgood; and they are of dancient date and they have been handed down unto us. 10 And I write this epistle unto you, Lachoneus, and I hope that ye will deliver up your lands and your possessions, without the shedding of blood, that this my people may recover their rights and agovernment, who have dissented away from you because of your wickedness in retaining from them their rights of government, and except ye do this, I will avenge their wrongs. I am Giddianhi.

It seems to me the only thing you've learned is that Caesar is a "salad dressing dude."
I at first thought you were talking about de-religionizing the letter from 3 Nephi, and I was wondering what was so religious about that letter other than the fact it was something that Mormon decided needed to be included in the record he was abridging that is now scripture. But, then I realized you were talking about Wacko Tom's letter sounding a lot like some of the rhetoric folks in this country spout...

When you boil a lot of that stuff down, it's the same lies he's been telling since he convinced Eve to bite the apple. Of course, they're dressed up in new ways so that they seem new.
To be honest, I'm unhappy that an LDS senator like Reid is the source of a lot of lies.

As of January 6, 2007, DRUDGE REPORT has a headline that British Jouranlists have caught whiff of a formerly secret plan by Israel to use tactical nuclear weapons against Iran's uranium enrichment facilities. Cover blown, I'm afraid.
