I'll post here a few things about some of the books I've suggested here and others, with excerpts that should be takes seriously.

The Hidden Things of Darkness - An Exposé of the Enemies of Christ - by Christopher S. Bentley. Email mcbentley@juno.com to purchase.

The author, using the Book of Mormon as a reference, shows that for freedom to be saved, Satan’s hidden works of darkness must be brought to light and exposed for what they are. He demonstrates that a latter day “secret combination” is using a hard core of “Satanocrats” to stamp out freedom in each land where they reside and build up a worldwide government that seeks to enslave mankind. He shows why, if people do not stand together and restore limited Constitutional government, based on God’s laws, the enemies of Christ will yet bring the downfall of our civilization. The book is an excellent disclosure of the evil plans of the enemies of Christ in both the past and in these latter days. The stated purpose of this book “is that it “will ring and continue to ring like a disturbing alarm clock in the minds of many men,” especially to those Elders of Israel who were foreordained, and sent to this earth, to step forward and save the Constitution from its planned destruction, when its destiny hangs by a thread.”

These statements in the book warrant our consideration

“But, while missionary work, temples, and other vital soul saving programs of the Church continue to move forward, Latter-day Saints must stop and ask themselves this one question. What will happen to all of these miraculous developments should the weighty matter of freedom and the Constitution be neglected for very much longer, which makes all of the rest of these things possible?”

“This battle will have to be fought outside the confines of the Church’s organizations. Members will have to seek out non-Church avenues in which to become involved in trying to save the Constitution from destruction. This includes working within the walls of our own homes and within the confines of our own communities”.

From: “F.D.R. My Exploited Father-In-Law” by his one time son-in-law, Curtis B. Dall, 1968

This book is yet another witness to the intent over many years of insider members of the Council on Foreign Relations to control the executive branch and much of the legislative and judicial branches of the US Government in order to increase their wealth and power. Curtis Dall discusses with first hand information the a subject he knew intimately, as the husband of Anna Roosevelt, daughter of FDR. It includes in particular the conspiracies of America's entry into WW1, the League of Nations, the Wall Street crash, WW2, the attempt by certain anti-Nazi Germans to arrange a peace with America and Britain so they could prevent the Soviet conquest of Eastern Europe, and the United Nations, and the events which gave the Soviet Union control over so much additional terretory and population after WW2.

“Dedicated to young Americans – May you benefit from observing how certain shadowy forces contrive to ruthlessly advance their own financial and ideological objectives at your expense. They select, then groom, and ultimately control many of our highest government officials. They plan the wars and through “foreign policy” arrange to set the stage for incidents to inflate hostilities. They overwork the word “peace” to misled you and create a plausible smoke screen in order to conceal their real operations. You can recognize who “they “ are.

“The American people are not reared and trained to become international-minded schemers. As a result, we have become the ready victims of those who have been reared and steeped in that type of training. In addition, as a people, we are too inclined to hedonism, deeply absorbed in a program of pleasure. Toward that end, we are being encouraged and daily “moulded” by our foreign influenced press, radio and TV programs. We are encouraged to become absorbed in the trivial, for obvious reasons, by dedicated world-planners.

“Many of us are prone to feel that our political status, even our freedom and our liberty in the U.S.A. is secure.....

“Let us not fool ourselves. The wealth, freedom and liberty of the American people are being stolen and steadily nibbled away. Today, as easy suckers, we are buying many over-priced, political “benefits”, all paid for, of course, with our own hard-earned money

“We have also been goaded into trying to run the affairs of other nations which yields a fine profit for the world money powers who are in-the-know on credits and markets. Whether you realize it or not, this has all been planned for you in just that way.

“False images and “managed news”, however, will soon lead to the destruction of a free people, if we allow it. “We” means you and me....

“For a long time I felt that F.D.R. had developed many thoughts and ideas that were his own to benefit the country, the U.S.A. But he didn’t. Most of this thoughts, his “political ammunition” as it were, was carefully manufactured for him in advance by the CFR - One-World Money group.”

“Hiding in Plain Sight” was written by LDS author Ken Bowers for the purpose of “unmasking how secret combinations operate in the last days”, which it does very effectively. It examines the financial, political, religious and media scams used to deceive us in hiding the actions of the conspiracy that “seeks to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries”. Using Holy Scriptures, Conference talk statements, and statements by key players of and opposed to the conspiracy, it warns the reader of the various facets of the conspiracy and suggests how to protect ones self and family against its intended ravages. Following are a few excerpts from the Introduction to the book.

“...He (Satan) plans to destroy freedom - economic, political, and religious, and to set up in place thereof the greatest, most widespread, and most complete tyranny that has ever oppressed men. He is working under such perfect disguise that many do not recognize either him or his methods.” (The message of the First Presidency to the Church, Conference Report, October 1942)

Satan...has established three kinds of secret combinations to accomplish that task. They are economic combinations, political combinations and religious combinations that all work together.

Unfortunately, history is often slanted to one side and what we learn in school is not necessarily accurate. (***I see that frequently when I substitute for public school history teachers. - RWH)

Do you remember the Punch and Judy shows?....No matter what the script, the puppets sooner or later wind up hitting or battling each other...the puppets were an innocent deception. Each of the two hand puppets were controlled by an invisible person under the stage, one puppet per hand...but no matter what it seemed to be, it was all fiction. The puppets weren’t real, neither the script; and the outcome was carefully orchestrated.....lets pretend that Punch and Judy had different names. For instance, let’s call Punch “Communism” and Jude “The Free World”. Incredible! Or how about this - Punch is “Israel” and Judy is “The Arab World”. Or, Punch is the “Democratic Party” and Judy is the “Republican Party”....this is indeed a radical concept - that there is a ‘person’ who controls many world events, history and even government from the shadows. He creates revolutions and hatred on a global scale. This ‘person’ is Satan, who works through a combination of secret and not-so-secret organizations here on earth to bring into fruition his goal which in a one-world-government....The conspiracy controls the overall direction in which humanity is moving, not our everyday activities.

Written by the late H. Verlan Andersen, for several years a 70, "Many Are Called But Few Are Chosen" demonstrates that the words of God's prophets, together with the United States Constitution, which He caused to be established, provide complete guidance on all important political issues and problems, and helps one understand why LDSs and LDGs are the only people who have access to an understanding of the true nature of our "awful situation".

The book is out of print. A secret combination that seeks to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries is increasing its evil influence and control over America and the entire world."

Pat Robertson, in his book "The New World Order", wrote:

"In government policy, the most visible expression of the Establishment is the Council on Foreign Relations and its publication, "Foreign Affairs".... According to a man who had been a member for fifteen years, Rear Admiral Chester Ward, former judge advocate general of the navy from 1956 to 1960, 'This purpose of promoting disarmament and submergence of U.S. sovereignty and national independence into an all-powerful one-world government is the only objective revealed to about 95 percent of 1,551 members (in 1975). There are two other ulterior purposes that CFR influence is being used to promote, but it is improbable that they are known to more than 75 members,..." Pg. 96 & 97

"The CFR is the American branch of a society which originated in England. Internationalist in viewpoint, the CFR, along with the Atlantic Union movement and the Atlantic Council of the United States, believes national boundaries should be obliterated and one-world rule established." Pg. 128 

Elsewhere in the book he wrote: "Further, I do not believe that normal men and women, if left to themselves, would spend a life time to form the world into a unified whole in order to control it after it had been unified. No, impulses of that sort do not spring from the human heart, or for that matter from God's heart. They spring, instead, from the depth of something that is evil, neither well intentioned nor benevolent."

"Such a world government can come together only after the Christian United States is out of the way. After all, the rest of the world can federate any time it wants to, but a vital, economically strong, Christian United States would have at its disposal the spiritual and material force to prohibit a worldwide satanic dictator from winning his battle. With America free and at large, Satan's schemes will at best be only partially successful."

Iron and clay are a weak foundation upon which the New World Order will stand.  I give it 3.5 years until Adam Ondi Ahman officially "terminates" all telestial tyranny and the Priesthood keys are returned to Christ.  Then the theocratic government will begin. 

It will be hard to have order when all is "in commotion". We need not fear the NWO. They should fear endowed Elders who can command the very mountains in the name of Jesus Christ and put whole armies to flight.  I think President Hinckley has taught about faith a couple times in the last while.  FAITH IS THE KEY. And faith without works is dead.  Zion must become "terrible".

Correct, "if ye are prepared ye shall not fear" (D&C 38:30) ... "but shall abide the day" (D&C 45:56-57).  However, do realize that this means being prepared both spiritually (Spirit as guide) and temporally (obeying Prophets' counsel via food storage).

Are (or will) any of you raising teenage daughter? My wife just finished a book called "Reviving Ophelia", by Mary Pipher (http://www.amazon.com/Reviving-Ophelia-Saving-Selves-Adolescent-Girls/dp/1594481881/sr=8-1/qid=1157052913/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-3066165-2150317?ie=UTF8&s=books) It's a very detailed book about how LDS are really doing things well. It's kind of an amusing read, because she takes the perspective of the objective scientists "discovering" that many well structured religious perspectives are helping girls cope and be much better adjusted to the rot of our media drenched world, than many others. It is also a heartbreaking read because it discusses the impact that our culture is having upon the gentle psyches of our Heavenly Father's daughters.

If you want to impact the world positively in terms of politics, I suggest reading something like this more than a bunch of conspiracy mongering books...
