I'd like to make you aware of what I at least consider a good article on how to anlayze the news and what goes on around around you.  The writer is Joel Skousen, active LDS, and no, he is not a son of the late Dr. W. Cleon Skousen.

He also has a website at   http://www.worldaffairsbrief.com    which daily posts reviews of and links to articles about current events of interest, and also links to other news services (News With Views, World Net Daily, Jeff Rense, and World News - I stick to the first 2)

You have to realize, ultimately, though, that any news source you read is biased, including Skousen. The real trick is to learn to strip away the bias, whether it agrees with your bias or not.
