GM and Segway talk about two wheeled electric car

This really seems like something out of science fiction. GM and Segway say that they plan to produce a two wheeled electric car that will drive itself.
Personally speaking I would always distrust a car that drives itself. I've worked with computers for long enough to know that there is never a system which is so foolproof that it cannot fail, especially when it comes to something as complicated as driving.

they are working together to develop a two-wheeled, two-seat electric vehicle designed to be a fast, safe, inexpensive and clean alternative to traditional cars and trucks for cities across the world.Yeah, and all it takes is a massive infrastructure, legal, and societal overhaul of all our cities!

I'll accept such radical changes when driven by the invisible hand of capitalism. That hand is not at work here.

Yes, let capitalism make such changes. Which is one reason why I think the switch to digital tv is a stupid idea. The market would have switched when it was ready. As it is it's been a huge boondoggle with people not able to get converter boxes and other problems.
