SALT LAKE CITY2 April 2009 Former Vice President Al Gore had a brief courtesy meeting with President Thomas S. Monson and then met with Elder M. Russell Ballard, Elder Quentin L. Cook and other members of the Churchs Public Affairs Committee Thursday evening. Mr. Gore gave a 30-minute presentation and expressed his concerns about CO2 emissions, followed by questions and answers.
What could Al Gore possibly expect the Church to do about C02 emissions? The church always offers proper respect to presidents and other dignitaries. It's politeness, and the Church is good at it. The church is certainly not anti environment. I believe they would meet with anyone in such an influential position. I wonder if we will hear anything during Conference about doing our part to help save the environment or that we need to be receptive and open to new taxes to help combat the threat.
Well, if Gore could convert them to his religion, they would bring a lot of converts with them. It won't happen, but that doesn't mean that he won't try.
