The Lutherans are considering allowing local congregations to vote to allow gays in "committed relationships", whereas now they only allow celibate gays to serve as clergy. Bit by bit they're trying to get everyone to accept the abomination of homosexuality as normal.

I wonder if the Lutherans are trying to get everyone to accept the abomination of homosexuality as normal or are they trying to encourage more attendance. I don't see how it could work. I would think that most Lutherans would be about as accepting of an openly homosexual minister/pastor/preacher as we would a homosexual bishop or branch president.

You're right - if they're trying to increase attendance, they're going about it the wrong way. As far as we've fallen, we're still a nation that can muster sufficient votes in most states, including liberal California, to vote down gay marriage. When homosexuals and those that support them are a minority, how do you hope to increase attendance by doing something that will displease the majority and only please a minority? In fact, they're not even pleasing the minority very well because they're trying to please both groups at once.
