In an interview with George Sephanopolous, Barack Obama talks about being attacked for his muslim faith. Listen to the youtube video. Those are the actual words he uses. Take it any way you will, whether he admitted that he's actually a muslim or he's just nowhere near as golden tongued as his supporters say he is. Obama has made some pretty startling gaffes during the campaign, such as saying that he has campaigned in all 57 states.

The youtube thingy is about 10 seconds long. I would have liked to see the whole interview. From the article, it appears that George (I'm not about to try to spell his name) was surprisely aggressive in his questioning...insisting to Obama that McCain has never made any comments about his religion and has denounced that type of accusations. It's interesting that Obama states that McCain and his camp are doing it and hiding it. To me, that's a grave accusation--what proof does he have? He didn't share it with George.
BTW, have any of you watched O'Reilly? Obama FINALLY agreed to be interviewed and they showed one segment on Thurs and the other segements on Mon, Tues, and Wed this week. I'm very interested in watching Bill ask him some real questions.

And yet the mainstream media doesn't pick up on stuff like that. I read an article that summarized the interview, and there wasn't a word about his "my muslim faith" gaffe.

Do not get me started about the mainstream media and Obama. I might pop. And what a wasteful way to go.
:P

I tend to take people at their word when it comes to their religious beliefs. Isaiah 29:21 "That make a man an offender for a word" is one class of person who will be cut off when the Lord returns again. This was repeated by Christ to the Nephites in 3rd Nephi. A presidential politician speaks a lot and is bound to occasionally make mistakes. Those mistakes are often seized upon by opponents for "gotcha" moments, but have very little to do with reality. Obama has made his religious position very clear on multiple occasions, so don't let a single remark taken out of context by political hacks make you think differently.
How is it out of context? The context of the discussion was people claiming that he is a muslim. That seems to be right in context. Sure, he could have just misspoken. But Obama has had a surprisingly large number of those.

Obama was asked about the rumors on the internet about his faith, and he accused the Republicans of "throwing a rock, and hiding their hand". It looked like a mistake to me (although I did find it mildly entertaining that he was corrected by Stephenopolos "you mean your christian faith". I am willing to let it pass.
Why all of this attention to things that don't really matter. It's the policies Obama wants to implement that scare me. He claims he's only going to tax the rich people "who aren't paying their fair share", but his capital gains tax is predicted to reduce the worth of ALL stocks and bonds by about 10%. Now what is that going to do to the economy which is already in a precarious position?
How about his "mandatory volunteer service"? It sounds like something straight out of the Soviet Union. My wife, who grew up in the Soviet Union, agrees with me.

Yes that's very scary. If its mandatory, it isn't being a volunteer, and it isn't true service. I think we have another word for involuntary servitude, slavery.
It's also scary thinking about the democrats having control of both the Legislative and Executive branches. They can push their social enginnering programs through without much resistance.
"His Muslim faith" was based on when he was raised in Indonesia, his dad listed them, so that means nothing. Indonesia requires everyone to register their faith, listing Muslim just makes things easier. It's more like joining a union than a religion.
My brother in law is listed as Muslim just because his dad wanted to remary and didn't feel like getting a divorce.
I think it was a slip of the tongue on his part. Honestly, I don't think that Obama really has a religion other than the worship of power and wealth.
