GM's troubles

GM is losing money hand over fist, and so they're cutting a fifth of their workforce and suspending production of trucks, amongst other things. Do you think they'll pull out of it? Their troubles seem pretty severe.

Just keep running the printing presses and you'll never run out of money.
You know a common method for fixing hyper-inflation? Switching currencies. Even if you call the new currency with the old name, it's new because they've chopped a few zeros off the denomination. But frequently they call the new currency by a new name. That's what happened in Ukraine.

Anybody else heard of the Amero yet?  Having a single North American currency would be unconstitutional under the US Constitution, Article 1, Section 8, which states that the United States Congress has the right to "coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fis the standard of weights and measures;"  Fortunately, resistance to a North American Union and a common currency is building.

BTW, everyone's talking about how unpopular SUVs and trucks are right now, but the experience of my friend, who is a manager at a Jeep dealership, doesn't bear that out. He says that SUV sales are still strong. He also says that, while individuals are buying fewer trucks, businesses still need them so they still buy them.
