I really really do.

We have a very large lilac bush right outside the kitchen window, and the smell is wafting through the house. Mmmmm.

I've had a couple of really sucky weeks, and it's amazing the difference that smell is making in my mood.

One of my tender mercies, yes?

LOL mirk!

I also love lilacs! I'm looking for a place to plant one. I don't have a big yard and they can really get big. But I do love them, so I WILL find a place, by gum!

The lilac usually blooms Victoria Day weekend up here (that's a week before your Memorial Day), and so it's a good 2 1/2 weeks behind.

Our rose shrub across the back fence is now blooming and it usually blooms on an early Memorial Day weekend.

Lilacs, roses, and honeysuckle. The other night getting out of the car a breeze carried the sweet scent of honeysuckle to me. Love that stuff. I walked over to where the honeysuckle is and just breathed it in for a moment.

And Mayday trees. Aaaah.

My neighbor's tree is blooming right now.

And let's not forget one of the most amazing flowers for fragrance: Evening-Scented Stock. As far as appearance goes, it's nothing special, but wow! what a smell.

I grew up with a couple of large lilac bushes/trees in the backyard. I too love the smell. I should put one in my yard.
