(Ok, I'll just add this: He's about to figure out that throwing a sippy cup at me leads to unpleasantness for him.)

Ok, we're past that and he's decided to be cute and charming again. Whew! That was a close one.

16 year olds can smell it too. Mine has hardly been home since my surgery... I think she senses that I don't have the energy to do anything about it. She forgets that my mouth still works though...

I remember once my now 3yo came after me once - he was 1 and some months at the time - my heart seriously skipped a beat. He was very intimidating. Not so much now, cuz he's sick tonight...

You had better break that boy before he grows bigger than you, coco. Cuz by the time he's 14, when you talk to him, he sees the mouth movin', but all he hears is
Yeah, this whole "breaking" thing... I get that with horses, but I don't get it so much with kids... Seriously, I'm finding myself "picking my battles" with my 13yo already... sometimes I wonder if I'm doing the right things.

I am already there with my 11-yo. The girls haven't done the teen attitude thing so much as he has. He's already rolling his eyes at me, ignoring me, and responding with that annoyed tone of voice, "okay, whatever!" If I had two good legs I'd kick him with one of them. Instead I whack him with my crutches. He seems to like that, actually. Maybe he needs a little more violence in his life... the language of love for the male species, ya know?
Cliche as it is, he really just might be wanting attention.

Yeah, mine's starting to not care so much about attending the fun family activities like cooking hotdogs up the canyon. Why the heck not? He'd rather hang out with his friends. Ended up all his friends were busy or gone, so he just ended up staying home and playing guitar hero and watching some bicycle obstacle course thing on TV from Japan. He acted like that was just as good as the canyon...

Ok, my 2 year old just threw himself on my foot begging to have dessert when he hadn't eaten his dinner. I screamed like the girl that I am because he happened to chose the foot that I just had surgery on.
I tell you, they smell weakness. I smell vicodin.

Ouch. Little bugger -- too bad he didn't think that through. Inflicting pain on mommy is usually not the most direct method for getting what one wants.
Ok, so yesterday said 2 year old 1) pooped on the carpet, 2) bit his brother, 3) crayola-ed on the wall, and 4) stepped on my foot -- the one I had surgery on, yes.
It's really good that he's about the most charming and cute little 2 year old there is, otherwise I might be frustrated.
