Well, the point is that they are predicting the possibility of something bigger happening in the near-ish future. And that the 4.7 was enough to cause damage.

I guess I'm spoiled by having grown up in California, where they actually build buildings in a sturdy manner. I've literally slept through 6.0 quakes. I've experienced a 7.2, and that was scary.

It's like when there's a blizzard in Colorado. Not too big of a deal. They are used to it and know how to deal with it and/or wait it out. Have a freak blizzard in NM, though and watch out. Big mess.

I think it is the swarm of earthquakes that is concerning - not the magnitude at this point, that the Off the Oregon coast is another place of odd earthquake swarming.
