Eight year old divorcee in Yemen. Former husband is 28. The marriage "was consummated." She's happy to be divorced so she can go back to school.

Actually it's more likely evidence of a culture that views women as subservient and without their own rights to choose.

I liked the part of how he never hit her, but consummating the marriage was okay. Poor girl, I can only imagine her fear, lack of comprehension, physical pain. I don't care what your culture is, that is just messed up. She should have been playing with dolls.

I really wonder how much more wickedness before God says it is enough.
