Security guard fired for preventing 16 year old from stealing tequila

A Target security guard was fired for preventing a 16 year old girl from stealing a large bottle of tequila.
I say he did the right thing.

isn't there a protocol of security guard ettiquette in which they aren't actually supposed to do anything?

I think that in his situation I would have done the same thing. It's better to stop a girl from drinking and bring the problem to the attention of her father than it is to keep your job.

These store policies are insane. Did you see where the pizza hut guy got fired after a thug pointed a gun at his head and he pulled a concealed weapon and shot the guy. He violated company policy. Of course if he had been shot and killed he would not have violated company policy. I think these businesses are so afraid of getting sued that they will let just about anything happen anymore. My hat is off to this guy. He chose to do the right thing which is more important.
