Mommy pleads for her murdering son's life

I don't know what, as a mother, I'd do in similar circumstances. But I certainly hope that it wouldn't include justifying the crime.

That'd be a tough situation for the mother. But, I've noticed on a small scale, letting stuff go unpunished leads to the same or worse behavior. I believe the same to be true of murder.
This guy killed his wife and unborn child. It's not like he killed another guy in a bar fight or something. If someone kills their wife and unborn child, they should get the worst punishment our society can impose.
If I were this guy's father, I'd probably really hate saying it, but I'd probably recommend the death penalty.

That's got to be the worst thing on earth for a mother to go through.

That would a hard thing to go through, but I would have a hard time pleading for a man's life with the murdered victim's family sitting in the room.

I thought this creep was going to get off. I'm glad he didn't. I can understand his mom and her feelings. I can also see the victim's family side too. No easy answers even though I am for the death penalty.

He finally led authorities to the body,

I'm all for punishing, but if this tidbit is accurate, I might not be for the death penalty.  Just my two cents, but while I can easily discount tears and blubbering at the sentencing hearing, I figure solid evidence of remorse and acceptance of blame speaks a bit more loudly.

I'd need more context surrounding his leading them to the body.
