Just got my first teenager

My oldest turned 13 yesterday.  I am definitely starting to feel my own mortality.  Plus, he is in my Sunday school class and thinks everything can be made into a joke, I love him and am being driven nuts at the same time.

It's funny, he is starting to like girls, but doesn't want to admit it.

Mine turns 13 in May. His friend just turned 13 this weekend. Mine has liked girls for half a year now. He keeps talking about how cool it will be when he'll be allowed to date.

Having a daughter who will be old enough to date in a couple of months, I am sorry to say there aren't any boys in our ward that we feel would be worthwhile for her to date or set a good example of an upstanding, LDS young man. Except maybe one or two, they are good kids but, our daughter has zero interest in them (and we can't really blame her).
Cat taught the deacon's quorum yesterday and was ready to knock some skulls when he was through because their behavior was atrocious.

Here's hoping you will actualy "like" your teenager during the teenage years.

Cocokid#1 has been a teenager for 8 months now. He spoke in Sac. mtg. yesterday on Becoming Pure in Heart. He had me read over his talk on the computer before he printed it out. I was just shocked. I told him, "You can't use this talk. Everyone's gonna' think your parents wrote it." It was amazing and he did just great. I'm looking forward to teenagers actually.

Thirteen and fourteen are tough ages. At least as much for the parent as for the child, I'm sure.

Being that my boys and I are in martial arts together, we have sparring gear and get to legitimately beath them up!biggrin

His mouth is just driving me crazy!  I keep telling my dad how lucky he was that I was so good!  Actually, I was a pretty good teen.

My oldest is nearly sixteen (with all the "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" angst), and my second is nearly fourteen. So far, I've really enjoyed their teenage years. I guess I'm missing out on all the "difficulty" I expected. shrug.gif

Yeah, it's the deacons "mouths" that Cat had a problem with in church yesterday and pretty much at every scout meeting.
Sometimes I wonder what my 17 year old autistic son would be like if he were normal and was able to speak.

Happy 13 years to Valhalla's son! 13 wasn't so bad. It was the 15 to 18 that was the worst for me.
