We've been watching them on Netflix. We started with Seasons 1 & 2 last fall and finished Season 3 a couple weeks ago. I don't want to wait until December for them to come out on DVD nor do I want to deal with commercials on prime-time. My brother-in-law is going to burn them for me and I'll get the first 7 or 8 episodes in March.
All I can say is that show is crack cocaine addicting. LOST RULES!!!
Phew. I almost thought I was missing it. I got mostly caught up with the rerun of Season 3's finale. Despite putting my kids to bed during commercials.
Hmm... well, we got a little more information but not much. Were there 6 who survived? Is that the Oceanic 6? Poor Hurley in the nuthouse. He's one of my favorites.

So, let's see. Naomi not dead...oh wait, yes she is now. Sneaky Kate. Poor Hurley. Yay Dead Charlie is back!!!
Hurley saw Jacob? Interesting.
Who are the Oceanic 6? Jack, Kate, Hurley...? Who was in the coffin? If there were only 6 who came back, was it one of the 6, or someone unexpected? Maybe it was Locke's dad. And what are they not telling anyone? That they betrayed the rest of the group in order to get a spot on the rescue boat? Are they all gonna go back to the island at some point? Hurley thinks they need to go back, but Jack doesn't. But in the future-er forward flash, Jack wants to go back but Kate doesn't...
Hmm...whomever is in the casket has to be someone Jack is remotely interested in seeing... maybe. I'm guessing, Yes, it was one of the "6". I was thinking Kate was talking about Sawyer when she said, "He'll be wondering where I am." So I don't think it's Sawyer. Plus when Jack mentioned he thought she'd be there she was like, "WHY?" and I don't think she'd react that way if it were Sawyer. It's someone Kate really despises.
Hurley saw Jacob?? When was that?
Okay, yeah. Maybe they're all lying that they are the only survivors - 6 of them. When really the big group is still left there, under the control of the "Not Penny's Boat" people. They got out safe, and don't want to risk going back there...? But then once in a while there's this guilt that creeps in, a la Hurley's comments to Jack in the gymnasium.
I really want more of Desmond. I want more flashes from him.
And I really want Claire's baby to be something special - remember those prophecies? He was going to be evil or something?
Kate rocks.
Further discussion, please, Euph.

Okay, I don't know if Hurley saw Jacob. I'm pretty sure that was Jacob's shack, and John was hanging out there spying out through the window. Other people said that they thought it was Jack's dad in the rocking chair. I was watching live, so I couldn't go back and check. That would be pretty cool. We really don't know much about Jacob at all. Ben just mentioned him a couple episodes back in Season 3, and we were all "Who the heck...?" and then John gets to see him...
I thought at first that I didn't think Sawyer would be one of the 6, but on reconsideration, there is a good chance. Kate has a thing about going back for anyone left behind. Except apparently everyone they ditched. But I think she'd have been more amenable to Jack's "We have to go back" if Sawyer had been left behind. Unless they had a major fight or something... You just never know, do you? So, maybe, maybe not.
I thought Kate's "Why" about going to the funeral might be more because she wasn't really connected at all to the person. Whereas Jack is obsessed with anything at all related to the island and the people left on it. That's why I wondered if it was John's dad or something tangential...
Oh! And did you notice Hurley's drawing when he was sketching in the mental institution? An igloo and winter scene. Kinda like those yahoos that were in a listening station up in Alaska or whatever... Discuss.
Igloo... I missed that. But who was the black dude that came to the nuthouse to talk to Hurley? He was real, cuz the nurse told him someone was here to talk to him.
Yeah, Jacob's shack thing - I was getting a bit freaked out at that point, so some of the stuff went over my head.
Sawyer's such a "main character" I think he'll be part of the 6 - he's always in the middle of things. And I REALLY want Sayid to find his woman again, so he should be part of the 6. And Desmond like totally needs to be back with Penelope, so yeah, him too. So that's 1,2,3...4,5,6! Yeah! But wait, Claire and Aaron HAVE to be part of things, cuz Aaron is like special or evil somehow... remember? That guy was saying something about her baby before she left on the plane... plus she's Jack's half-sister... something has to come up with that, right? Wait.. am I getting confused?
But yes, Penelope has to be thinking she's getting warmer. And you know you can get anything in the world with money.
I thought it was interesting how Hurley was so happy to be going back to his life without all his lottery winnings. Bernard was like, whatever floats yer boat, dude... Discuss.

I don't know if we can say for sure that the black dude was real. One of the patients saw Charlie too. Maybe it was an imaginary nurse...with imaginary meds...and an imaginary patient...and imaginary black dude and Dead Charlie (Yay!).
All of the crew seem to be main characters from time to time. But yeah, Sawyer is pretty central. But there have to be some interesting people left behind or why would we care if they go back? I definitely think Claire stays behind. Evil baby goes with the evil island craziness. And crazy Walt.
I'm thinking the 6 who went back are those who were more or less resolved or at peace-ish. Jack's Dad is gone (but wait...is he? It bugs me that the finale was ambiguous: "Go get my dad, and if he's drunker than I am..." and the prescription. Is Jack nuts, or is Dad alive again?), Kate should be more or less free since the Marshall who was so dogged after her is dead. Hurley's money and curse (?) are gone.
Who else? Sawyer...killed the conman haunting him, so John's dad is now dead...but John sure likes that island. Sun and Jin are all happy lovey now, but Mean Daddy is probably still back home. Rose wants to stay cancer-free on the island. Claire and evil baby have to stay, especially for Charlie. Mmm...Alex is probably staying with her mom, since the island is her home. Sayid...we need more Sayid. That's all. And Desmond. He can't get back that easily, or all the angst is wasted. Is that everybody who's still alive?
Yeah, maybe the black dude was not real. Sheesh! Can't count on anything in this show!
I think Kate would be more anxious to agree with Jack's "we need to go back" if Sawyer was one who was left behind. Unless he really does her wrong at some point coming up here soon.
And yeah! The only one crazier than Walt was his freaky dad! Glad he's gone!
I don't get that thing Jack yelled in the hospital, "Go get my dad," etc... at all. Jack could be nuts AND his dad could also be alive.
Rose and Bernard won't be seperated and Sun and Jin won't either, I don't think. Then there's the Others who are left... Juliet (HATE, HATE, HATE HER! ) and Mr. Friendly and the military haircut guy.
Man, Thursday is sooooo looooongg.....

What about Hurley's apology to Jack about going with Locke? Why would he say that when they've both ended up rescued anyway?
I tried to find out a little more about the black dude. He's an Oceanic attorney, Matthew Abaddon - which means loosely "gift of God" and Abaddon means something like "angel of death" ... hmm.... And he asked Hurley "Are they still alive?" What the heck----

Man...we didn't even discuss last week. What kind of fans are we? Or is the discussion somewhere else I wasn't checking...
Last week. Mostly just to introduce us to the new crew, I guess. C.S. Lewis...hehehe. Well, except it's Charlotte Staples instead of Clive Staples. Dharma Polar Bear in the middle of a desert. Random background stuff. Were these supposed to be flashbacks again instead of the current flash forwards? Or are they sorta flash-in betweens as to what they were doing between the crash and their mission? Black guy is real, I guess, since he's the crew's recruiter. And they are in trouble if Naomi was in charge of babysitting everyone.
Back to tonight. Hmmm. So, what the heck is up with Sayid working for Ben!?
Why is the 'payload' 30 minutes late getting to the beacon? Maybe it has something to do with the same reason the 'light doesn't scatter quite right.' Is the island in a time-shift wormhole?
"Oh great, the boat sent us another Sawyer." Hehehehehe.
And Ben needs a spy room with international money and dozens of passports...and lots of...suits? O...kay.
Yeah... what happened to last week? Maybe WE'RE in the wormhole!
Okay, that whole thing with Sayid and Ben looked like Sayid was working under duress. Like Ben had him by the ***** somehow and was making him to this hit-man stuff. As soon as the golf course guy knew he was one of the "Oceanic 6" he immediately became nervous and wanted to get outta' there but knew it was already too late. I wonder who Elsa's boss was? She referred to him as "old-fashioned." Sayid seems to really be wanting a relationship, doesn't he? I wonder if he's still looking for that woman he set free...
Yeah, the C.S. Lewis thing was kinda' funny... Staples? What the heck kind of girls' middle name is that? Then I'm thinking, "Maybe all their names are authors or something... code names, that is... Daniel Faraday? Suddenly that sounds familiar... who's Daniel Faraday?" Not only that, he TOTALLY looks familiar to me. Who is that guy?

I didn't pick up on the duress angle. Hmm. I wondered in passing if the 'boss' might have been John Locke. And I wondered why he wasn't with Nadia too.
Are you thinking the actor for Faraday is familiar, or as a character? He kinda reminds me of Charlie, so I like him. Faraday was a scientist of some kind, I think. Physicist? Something... I don't know about Miles or the pilot. I forget his name altogether.
If we're in a wormhole...that would explain the slime trail through my house.
See, I don't see Locke leaving the island, do you? I don't know who her boss could've been.
Faraday, the actor, I guess.... anyhoo he looks waaaay familiar to me.
But yeah, I thought Sayid looked like he was getting blackmailed or something by Benry... like he had him by the throat for some reason and telling him what to do and whom to kill next, etc...
The suits in that secret closet were kinda weird... why not have disguises or something interesting? And what happened to that guy/co-hort of Ben's? The quasi-GQ guy that never ages? The one that "found" Ben as a boy running away? Maybe he's some kind of boss...?

I don't know about Locke leaving the island. The boss is only in Berlin once or twice a year... Ben lived on the island too, but apparently did some mainland undercover. But maybe the boss is whoever sent the boat after Ben. Black Scary Guy or his superior maybe?
I don't know what's gonna happen to GQ guy. We haven't seen the rest of the Others since Ben went to head off Jack with Alex.
