I hate to think of someone voting for someone because they think it is historic to put a woman or a colored person into office. If a person is the most qualified, those things should not even be factors. I think I heard Hillary use rhetoric regarding the white house as,"let's shatter the ultimate glass ceiling." If she is seeking to represent all of us, then she should not be using rhetoric that makes this about a Women's Rights Issue. Women have been the heads of other nations and there is no question whether a woman could do the job. It is just plain silly to question whether a woman could do the job as we have had women leaders through the ages. Some have said that if women were rulers that the world would know more peace. There is no basis of that from some of the women rulers in the past. It depends on the individual. I would say that Hillary does some to have worked with both Repulbicans and Democrats in the Senate. I think that she is respected for what she has done. I don't think that I would vote for her. But I guess that depends on who the other guy or gal is.(not that there is a Republican gal running now)
I was excited when Elder Uchtdorf was made an apostle because he was German, and I speak German. I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing. I can identify with him because of shared experiences. What if more people are willing to come to the table and discuss things because Clinton is a woman or Obama is black? Should that inherit quality and possible advantage be totally disregarded? No, of course not.
