Bush, Jerusalem and Betrayal

With Bush's current visit to Israel, they are talking peace with Palestinians (what a joke) and as part of it in dividing Jerusalem and possibly control of the temple mount going to the Palestinians.  This involves the current Israeli administration.

To me this is a betrayal by Bush and the US government and the Israeli government of all Christians and Jews.  It sickens me.

Story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080110/ap_on_re_mi_ea/bush_mideast

Bush talks of Israeli occupation of Arab lands, BULL!!!  The Arabs rolled the dice and lost in FOUR wars, screw them.  Besides, those wars are what put Jerusalem back into Jewish and Christian hands.

Not to mention that those lands were never owned by a "Palestinian state" They were owned by various surrounding countries before modern Israel came into existence. Plus, they were jewish before that. And, not to mention, that the muslims voluntarily abandoned their lands when the surrounding countries told them to leave because they were about to destroy Israel.
Could someone please tell me when "land for peace" has worked for Israel? They gave up the Gaza strip, and instead of peace, they've had a constant stream of rockets fired at them from that territory. Why does anyone with a shred of sanity think that "land for peace" will work this time?

Signs of the times? I don't remember anything about those settlements in Revelation or D&C or Ezekiel or Isaiah or Daniel.

That was all part of the land given to Israel and promised to Abraham in Genesis. Orson Hyde dedicated that land to the return of the Jews.

Here is the land given to Israel and the tribes, it includes those areas:

For which people's return did Orson Hyde dedicate Palestine and Jerusalem?  Read his dedicatory prayer and there is no doubt he is referring to the Jewish people. (see The Restored Church, William E. Berrett, 154-155).

Israel should not cede any more land until Hamas is a minority party in the Palestinian government.  After pulling out of the Gaza strip and witnessing the  chaos the peace-loving Palestinians created there the Israelis should know better.  Maybe Bush gave them a green light to take out Iran's nuclear facilities in exchange for land.  Who knows

I am pretty much in complete agreement with that sentence.  However, it's still in everyone's best interests to at least go through the motions of talking peace and exploring options.  Because, even though they've been killing each other for 60 years, (and thousands of years before that), you shouldn't let yourself get so hardened that you automatically discount any chance of making things better.

Maybe I'm a hopeless idealist here, but it seems like we've got 3 options:
1 Let everyone duke it out once and for all, and don't interfere with whatever side ends up practicing genocide on the other.

2 Continue to work with the current authorities, such as they are, on ways to end or improve things.  Even if it never works.

3 Take a side and assist in the genocide mentioned in #1.

Are there really any other options?

Hamas is a nightmare. They do nothing about all the rockets they launch into Israeli territory, and well... if that was happening in the states, the equivalent of Palestine would be a smouldering slag heap.

Well, Gaza and much of the West Bank have already been ceded over to the Palestinian Authority. All that has done is, well nothing, the problems still exist.

What is ironic is that all this land they wish to give away to create a Palestinian state belonged to other countries. The Gaza Strip was Egyptian and the West Bank was Jordanian. Geographically, Israel cannot afford it either.

As to the options left, LMM, let them duke it out, it is going to happen, sooner or later. The Brits and Czechs tried land for peace with Hitler, it failed.

Finally, the land all the way to the Euphrates was promised by the Lord to Abraham.
