Well, since Thanksgiving is tomorrow. What food(s) do you look forward to partaking of? We are going to Cat's sister's house for Thanksgiving. All I have to bring is rolls, apple pie and maybe the bean casserole thing that people always make for Thanksgiving.
I personally enjoy sweet potatoes and the stuffing and the turkey and several types of food of the pie variety.
I love pumpking pie, but I no longer eat pie other than sugar free apple pie. I am not cooking tomorrow. I think my parents are going to my sister and brother-in-law's home. I am not cooking anything. I hope they bring me a nice plate with the fixings. I don't like turkey very well, but Thanksgiving does not quite seem like Thanksgiving without it. Happy Thanksgiving to all! I always liked the green bean casserole a lot!
I'm making a sugar-free pumpkin pie with an almond crust. I really like pumpkin pie and wanted to find a way I could have it in my current eating plan. It won't be diet, but I'm not trying to lose weight tomorrow anyway. If it turns out well, I'll share the recipe.

I am not required to cook anything, but I will most likely be cooking pumpkin pie (just because I love making it) and holiday rolls. We're going to my mom's house. For me, these are the foods that are required for a Thanksgiving dinner to be a thanksgiving dinner: my mom's holiday rolls, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes w/gravy, and turkey (maybe ham instead of turkey).

I'm doing a honey flavored pumpkin pie. It fulfills a different purpose than hiccups' sugarless pie, though. Even though honey has tremendous health benefits, it still contains a lot of calories. Those calories have to go somewhere if they're not used.

I'll be making the now traditional sausage/cream cheese stuffed mushrooms. My wife's aunt is doing most the rest of the cooking. She said I was required to do the mushrooms and bring Diet Coke.
Made banana cream and chocolate cream pies today. Previously made chocolate/oat bars, fudge, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, brownies and chocolate nut clusters which are tucked in the freezer, waiting to become yummy treat plates. Working on the mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes at the moment. (Make-ahead and reheat.)
My dad is in a rehab facility from back surgery last week so unfortunately he won't be with us at the dinner table. We'll all go in to visit him (about an hour away), though it just won't be the same.
Lately I've been overcome with how many blessings I have. I really want to take it up a notch with my personal level of service. I hold far too much back.
Happy Thanksgiving, people!
Carry on!

Going to my brother's house--he's hosting the whole family shin-dig. I'm making baked beans, corn casserole, rolls, and salad.
My favorite food? Everything...mashed potatoes, green beans, mac/cheese, ham, turkey, stuffing, gravy over it all, rolls, etc. I'm not so big on the sweet stuff...the only part of pumpkin pie I like is the whipped cream.

I've been down since last Thursday with one of the worst cases of the flu that I can recollect. I will be washing up, putting on a mask and I'm cooking candied yams. My sweetie will take that and some rolls to my brothers for dinner. I have to stay home as my nephew who just finished Chemo and radiation (and is very immunocompromised) will be at my brothers and the VERY last thing I would ever want to do is pass on this flu to another human soul.
My favorite food at Thanksgiving? Turkey. Maybe next year.

So sorry to hear about your illness, Mahonri. I had the flu really bad a couple of weeks ago. Let's just say that when I could even get up, I was really good friends with the porcelain throne.

As recently as this afternoon, I still have chills, sweats and slight fever, a cough that won't quit and an inability to sleep. It's day 4 and in the past four days... only 7 hours of sleep... I had two stints of 2 hours a piece during those 7 hours... the rest was in 25 min to an hour in length. It started with every symptom. Headache, muscle ache, fever chills, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and now it's settled in my lungs and left ear. I'm on Augmentin875 and some cough meds w/ codine and a supposed sleep enhancer that is NOT working.
The shot is usually a crap shoot anyway, but everyone I know that has gotten the shot have not gotten this horrid flu.
If you haven't gotten the shot... GO NOW!
