Pat Robertson has stated, basically as I heard on the radio, that to divide Jerusalem and allow the Palestinian Authority/Hamas control could bring God's wrath on Israel and America. Now, I do not generally listen to Pat Roberts' words, but I may have to agree on this one. We already know that the land for peace nonsense is exactly that and does not work, but willingness to cede east Jerusalem seems like an abomination to me. There were reports that when Israel seized Jerusalem in the 1956 war and the rest in the 1967 war that there were angels present. While I don't know on that, it would seem to me that to let part of the Holy City go to others is wrong. It irks me anyway, but it seems the Jews and American government are more willing to trust those who have shown they cannot be trusted instead of God.
Lo, there I see my mother, my sisters, my brothers Lo, there I see the line of my people back to the beginning Lo, they call to me, they bid me take my place among them In the halls of Valhalla, where the brave may live...forever
What I would like to know is where do people get the idea that there is some sort of scriptural / prophetic mandate that Jerusalem / greater metropolitan Jerusalem has to be in the governmental control of the modern state of Israel?
I think it has about as much actual scriptural support as the evangelical belief in what is termed the rapture...
Maybe the cumulative effects of Israel's hawkish and dogmatic lack of compromising over generations is what ends up causing the massive battle spoken of that in part ushers in the Second Coming...
