It includes the hyper liberal people from Vermont, and hyper conservative christians from the south who want to break away from the U.S., as well as groups from the south advocating recreating the Confederacy, People wanting Texas, Alaska, Hawaii, and California to be their own countries, as well of groups that think the U.S. needs to be disolved because its an evil empire, or because the federal government has too much power, or because they think red states and blue states should 'divorce' so people can pursue their politics indepentantly.
On one hand I dismiss these people as crazies, but then again the next Presidential Election, A possible war with Iran, Terrorist attacks, and so on may amplify this kind of thing, and could have an effect. (The book of 3rd Nephi comes to mind.)
I also feel somewhat sympothetic to some of their points of view, I think the federal govenment has gotten too intrusive, and that states should have more of a say. But overall I think this is horribly irresponsible.
Vermont has had a similar thing going for a while.
They have. I think we have had a thread here before about that.
The Vermont secessionists are one of the biggest groups at this thing going on. A bunch of news articles think its strange that they would be talking with people who are considered racists.
