Well, I guess this means my 4 year will just have to watch Pirates of the Caribbean for the 1000th time. Let's have a party. Drink up me harties! Then blow the man down.
I'm not very good with dialects, could I just steal things from people instead?

What next? Talk like a murdering thief day? Oh wait. Same thing.
Just popping in to throw water on this stupid day.
I saw the man and woman who created this fabulous day on "Wifeswap," or one of those shows where the wife goes and lives with another family.
The husband is a total jerk. The wife is a total jerk. And their only income is made from their stupid "talk like a pirate" website. (The new "wife" made the husband get a job for a week during her stay, and it nearly killed him).
So, no. I don't support this day, no matter how cute it is.
And FWIW, I don't like the way our society aggrandizes pirates and outlaws, so there is another good reason not to support it.
I think the dude who had to leave his "Talk like a Pirate" website for a week to go out and get a REAL job because his fake wife made him FELT like walking the plank.
Polly- Maybe I'm losin' my mind here, but didn't you say somewhere else that if you're having a personally difficult time at home that's still no excuse to be meanie-guts on the forum??

I warned y'all ahead of time Coco... (In my mind, which is the ONLY one that matters ARRRGGGG... it's okay, then...) I's only when you use a [personal chanllenge that no one has any clue about as an excuse... later, that I have a problem with... I THINK...
However, in all fairness... if I said something pithy BEFORE the warning, I will gladly walk the plank... Bring on the sharks... It's been one of those days!
As my VERY wise daddy used to say to his children: "NOTHING is free when it comes to agency. There is a price we pay for every choice, especially when we misuse use our agency to have that choice."
Cat said that someone at his work took "Talk like a pirate day" a little too seriously yesterday. He saw someone actually wearing a pirate hat. He had to take a double-take. Hmmm. Can we say, get a life?
P.S. Who wants to be the first to announce their offended by that on the I'm Offended thread?
